St. Mary's Hannah is committed to the spiritual and academic excellence of the whole child through quality Catholic education. We offer a traditional education in a Christian environment. Small class sizes allow our teachers to get to know each child. This is an important component of providing instruction and support on an individaul basis. Religion, computer lab, physical education, Spanish, and art enhance our curriculum and contribute to providing an enriched learning environment for each student. Students are able to flourish as they develop educational foundations and spiritual values for a faith filled life.

Our Foundation = Faith, Family and Fundamentals

Catholic Values taught daily.

Students become active participants in the Mass and parish community.

We integrate the basic curriculum skills with hands-on projects in all subjects.

Quality education beginning in Kindergarten:

  • In grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Ninety-three percent achieved the Rigby grade level assessment.
  • In grades 4th, 5th, and 6th, Ninety-one percent of the students passed the MEAP reading and math without any special practice.
  • In grades 4th, 5th, and 6th, Ninety-one percent passed the QRI-3 reading test.
  • In grades 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, Ninety-two percent achieved the NWEA grade level math assessment.
  • In grades 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, Eighty percent achieved the NWEA grade level reading assessment.

We the parishioners, parents and staff of St. Mary's Hannah Catholic School, believe that our God-given purpose is to provide each child with the opportunity to experience God's love and His Word. We are dedicated and empowered by the Holy Spirit to use our time, talents, and treasures to build the Kingdom of God. By helping each child achieve his or her maximum potential of mind, heart, body and soul, we strive to build Christian chatacter as part of our teaching the Catholic faith.

Marty and Jane Pinna
We have been extremely happy with all aspects of our faith-filled school. Our Catholic Faith is taught and lived here in such a beautiful way. The small class size, quality curriculum (which includes many enrichment areas such as music, art, gym and computers), and the caring, qualified staff have all made our decision to educate our children here, one that we will never regret. Not only have the staff and curriculum been top-notch, but the Christian character that we strive to build at home, is carried through their daily learning in every subject at school.

We send our daughters to St. Mary's because every aspect of their daily
routine, at this school, positively reinforces the values and beliefs that we instill in our home. With the help of God, Father Mike, the dedicated teachers, volunteers and close peers, here at St. Mary's, it is like a "home away from home" for our children.
David and Linda Lark
Sending our boys to St. Mary's was one of the best choices we made for our two boys. The smaller class size helped them get the individual attention they needed. They developed excellent organizational skills and great study habits. The Christian education they received helped build their character and has helped guide them in important decisions.

St. Mary-Hannah Elementary School has had a positive impact on our son, Matthew, both academically and socially. The small class size and positive atmosphere has allowed him to excel in areas where he is advanced and guided him when he needed direction. He has been shown through example and involvement what living a solid Christian life means. The excellent teachers and staff consistently keep us informed about this progress and social development. Matthew is encouraged to be an active learner and prepared for real world events. St. Mary's offers a safe environment in which our son is challenged emotionally, physically, and spiritually to do his best. The school's 99 years of tradition strongly supports our fundamental values and builds upon Matthew's educational foundation. What we've received from St. Mary-Hannah Elementary School is priceless!

When you are doing the right thing it just feels so right that there is no question in your mind. That's how I feel about the choice I made years ago to send my kids to St. Mary's of Hannah School. In an environment of safety and security where everyone treats each other with acceptance and respect my kids have come to enjoy school and learning. They no longer come home feeling defeated or unequal to others, have no fears of being teased or bullied, and are able to focus on what is important, learning. One of the things I love the most about our school is that I know the name of every student in the school. I know their parents, and often their grandparents and other relatives. There is a strong connectedness and family atmosphere that provides support, encouragement and lifelong relationships. St. Mary's school has a unique quality of keeping a strong connection to the values of the past that seem to be disappearing in the rest of our society. The lessons that are taught here are so much more than just education. They are getting a foundation of basic morals and principles that will last their entire lives.
Franklin and Mary Geranen
I asked my son, who is in First Grade at St. Mary-Hannah, what he likes about his school. He replied that, "we learn to be nice to each other, and not use bad words. We learn to follow directions. The kids are not allowed to punch each other. Our gym class is fun and you get to do different stuff in art class. We watch different movies and have Popcorn Day." My husband and I were so happy that St. Mary's worked with us so it was possible for our son to attend their school. The benefits are priceless to us and are too many to list within a paragraph. It is important to us that our son not only receives the good education that St. Mary's offers, but spiritual values, knowledge and confidence that is shared, not only in our home, but at school. When I take my son to school in the morning, I feel at peace.

Tuition Payment & Assistance Opportunities

Parish Support
St. Mary’s Hannah Parish supports the school on a weekly basis. This support is based on the parish ordinary income (Sunday collections.) By supporting your parish financially, you support the parish’s ability to support St. Mary’s School. The Certificate of Parish Participation and the Sacrificial Giving Form needs to be completed annually by school families. These forms are available at the school office and must be provided each school year.
Scholarships
Forms are available in the school office for Non-Parishioners providing funds have been donated to distribute to families in need.
Loans
A ten-month loan program is offered through Honor Bank and East Traverse Catholic Federal Credit Union. Rates are fixed and are competitive to market rates. Loan applications are included in the registration packet. Loan contracts will be finalized in late May with the tuition payment due to St. Mary’s School by July 31, 2008.
Meijer Rewards Program

The Meijer Rewards Programs is designed to help you save towards your child’s tuition for Non-Parishioners and the Registration and Materials Fee for Parishioners for the next school year without spending extra money.

You can obtain an application form for the Meijer Community Rewards Program from the church, school, store, or at Meijer.com/rewards.com. Simply swipe the card you will receive by mail whenever you shop at Meijer. You will earn rewards of 1% by using your Meijer Credit Card or pay by cash or debit and earn 0.5%. Use it for food, clothing, toys housewares, jewelry, hardware, garden and more. Eligible purchases now include Meijer Gas Stations, Convenience Stores, Car Washes and Meijer.com.
